Paste magazine's Josh Jackson, and staff, look at what they consider the 50 best southern rock albums of all-time, proving that this sub genre that took rock and roll and blended it into a rich gumbo of southern roots music in the forms of blues, jazz, country, and soul, proving it is a truly one of a kind art form, and that it went way beyond what most people envision it as, being of the magnolia blooms, honeysuckle, peaches, and kudzu vines of the deep south.
It also brought the south out of the ancient past of racial strife and segregation, and exposed a charm and a culture that is unlike anything in the entire world, and showing that the music was more than that. It was a way of life.
