Paco de Lucia, Al di Meola, & John McLaughlin "Spain"

A favorite composition of yours truly (Chick Corea's masterpiece, "Spain"), played by three jazz guitar maestros.  The late, great Paco de Lucia, Al di Meola, and John McLaughlin.  May have shared similar work by these three before, but here again, is a fantastic piece of music.

Dickey Betts on the Real Allman Brothers Band stories behind the film 'Almost Famous'

Disclaimer: I have not watched the Movie "Almost Famous" yet, but apparently, Dickey Betts is here to tell the real stories as they were portrayed in fiction in the movie.

***

Dickey Betts talks from his home on Little Sarasota Bay about the real Allman Brothers Band stories that inspired the 2000 film "Almost Famous", and what actor Billy Crudup said about playing him.

Return To Forever "The Shadow of Lo"

Recorded live at the Electric Lady Studios, June 1975. Originally broadcast live on WQIV-FM. From the compilation album " Return To The 7th Galaxy: The Anthology" released in 1996.

Chick Corea - keyboards
Al Di Meola - guitar
Stanley Clarke - bass
Lenny White - drums

To clarify, the title is somewhat misleading.  The record company printed the tune's title as "The Shadow of Lo", but according to drummer Lenny White, the true title of the song is "The Shadow of Io" which is one of the seven moons of planet Jupiter.  That's where the song's title originates from.

Koko Taylor (feat. Little Walter) "Wang Dang Doodle" (revisited) & more (a mini blues revue)

The extended version of "Wang Dang Doodle" by Koko Taylor and Little Walter.  There are numerous other performances in this montage from Willie Dixon, Matt "Guitar" Murphy, "Hound Dog" Taylor, and pianist Victoria Spivey, who reminds yours truly of some of the great early women of blues and jazz, such as Bessie Smith, Mamie Smith, Ma Rainey, Billie Holiday, or Ella Fitzgerald.  It's a shame, that Victoria Spivey's performance at the end of the video is cut short.
