In Memoriam: Scott Boyer

Remembering songwriter, Scott Boyer, who was one half of the duo, Cowboy, with fellow singer/songwriter/guitarist, Tommy Talton.  These guys were buddies with the Allman Brothers, and Duane Allman recorded the resonator guitar part on the original cut of this song.  Eric Clapton also covered it on his 1974 "461 Ocean Boulevard" record, and it has been posted on this blog, in similar guises, before.  Another of the greats, gone too soon.  Rest In Peace, Scott Boyer.  So, we honor his legacy, and also, the legacies of Duane and Gregg Allman, with this recording of "Please Be With Me", played as the last song for Scott and Tommy's acoustic show, along with bassist Terry Richardson at FAME Studios in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, on July 20th, 2014.
