A great performance by the Marshall Tucker Band with both Toy and Tommy Caldwell in the band, circa 1977.  The tune is, "Heard It In A Love Song". 

Boz Scaggs (feat. Duane Allman) "Loan Me A Dime"

Here is another classic song that Duane Allman had a part in recording.  This is "Lone Me A Dime" from Boz Scaggs self-titled solo debut record that came out in 1969 on Atlantic Records.  It was his second album, after he recorded a mono LP in 1966 as well.  The band lineup for the '69 Atlantic release is as follows:

Wilson Pickett & Duane Allman "Hey Jude"

Check this out.  Wilson Pickett's version of "Hey Jude" by The Beatles, with Duane Allman playing the solo.  THIS tune launched what Duane's signature guitar sound would become with the Allman Brothers, and also, many of the other collaborations he did in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, while still working as a session player.  Eric Clapton, introduces the tune, with his experience of hearing Duane's playing for the first time, listening to that record.

This is one of the coolest tunes, ever, and probably THE tune for harmonica fans.  Well, granted there's a lot of fine, true blues harmonica that has come throughout history.  But, "Whammer Jammer" by The J. Geils Band, featuring their harmonica wizard Richard "Magic Dick" Salwitz, takes the blues harp to a whole other planet!  Dig this!  As a bonus, this performance also includes a song called "Hard Drivin' Man".

Lynyrd Skynyrd "Call Me The Breeze" (feat. Charlie Daniels) Volunteer Jam, 1979

Check this out.  In 1979, the surviving members of Lynyrd Skynyrd came together to perform with The Charlie Daniels Band at their annual Volunteer Jam concert in  Tennessee.  Here, Charlie joins them on "Call Me The Breeze", which of course, was written by J.J. Cale and made famous by Skynyrd.  Charlie's late, great keyboardist Taz DiGregorio does a spirited vocal on this one.  Dig it.

This mysterious song title from Maynard Ferguson (as you can see in the title of the entry), stands for "Sit On My Face".  Very sweet Eastern flavored jazz tune.  Sitar or sarod (not sure which), joins the usual cast of horns and the ever present Rhodes piano, for this one.

The Staples Singers "I'll Take You There"

Yours truly had the pleasure of seeing ZZ Top play at Grand Casino Hinckley in Hinckley, Minnesota, in 2005.  Here they are, playing the well known Bonnaroo Music Festival in Manchester, Tennessee, earlier this year.
