The String Cheese Incident "Vertigo"

Another cool new song from String Cheese Incident and SCI Sound Lab.  This one is called "Vertigo".

On the heels of the "Otherside" release, we now have something completely different... the Bill Nershi penned "Vertigo". Welcome to the SCI Sound Lab! This is what it's all about. Vertigo is an old school SCI rocker, a high energy jam that promises to be a powerful addition to the live repertoire. Billy gave some insight into the song, "I was getting ready to go to the Solar Eclipse Festival in Oregon last year. I looked at the sun through a newly acquired pair of sunoculars. Half an hour later everything started spinning. This is the song about my experience since then." - Bill Nershi

"The Big Reveal" - SCI Sound Lab (Single)

The latest release from The Lab is here, a Kyle Hollingsworth led tune called “The Big Reveal,” available now on iTunes, Spotify, Amazon and more! https://fanlink.to/TheBigRevealSCI

Kyle shares insight on the new track... "This was inspired by my early experiences at Grateful Dead shows. Keith and I co-wrote the lyrics together. It speaks of being young and finding how music can transform and expand your consciousness, allowing you to find your place in a bigger community. For me, some of those early Dead shows were my “ah ha” moment. And to some degree lead me to become a musician. Musically, it's based on a funky jam that we had improvised at Merriweather Post Pavilion in 2016 called “Crab Chips Jam”. It’s fun to occasionally dive back into the SCI archives and find some unique gems to build songs around!" - Kyle

Hank Williams Jr. "Whiskey Bent & Hell Bound"

One of Hank Williams Jr.'s best known songs, that sees him moving out of the shadows of his late, great father Hank Williams Sr., but simultaneously, echoing the same pain, anguish, and desperation, the many of his father's songs, contained.  This is what happens, folks, if you hit the bottle too hard.  "Whiskey Bent & Hell Bound".  Check it out.

Sarah Vaughan & her trio "September In The Rain"

Check out Sarah Vaughan singing the standard "September In The Rain" with her trio, live in 1958.  "September in the Rain" is a popular song by Harry Warren and Al Dubin, published in 1937. The song was introduced by James Melton in the film Melody for Two. It has become a standard, having been recorded by many artists since.

In 1962, The Beatles recorded a rock 'n roll interpretation during their famed Decca audition.

Sarah's accompanied by Ronnell Bright (piano), Richard Davis (bass), and Art Morgan (drums). Recorded July 9, 1958. (Mercury Records).

Here are the lyrics.

"September In The Rain"

(Harry Warren & Al Dubin)

The leaves of brown, came tumbling down,
Remember that September, in the Rain

The sun went out just like a dying ember
That September in the rain

To every word of love I've heard you whisper
The raindrops seem to play a sweet refrain.

Though spring is here to me it's still September
That September in the rain

To every word of love I've heard you whisper
The raindrops seem to play a sweet refrain

Though spring is here to me it's still September
That September in the rain
September in the rain
That September in the rain
