In Memoriam: Charley Pride

We remember the great legacy of country music legend and baseball player, Charley Pride.  He was the first widely recognized African American country music superstar.  Very sadly, Charley's cause of death was the COVID-19 Coronavirus.

Here are some of his best known hit songs.

"Just Between You And Me" (feat. Lloyd Green: pedal steel guitar), performed on The Lawrence Welk Show.

He had many other hit songs on the country music charts.  "Is Anybody Going To San Antone?", performed on The Marty Stuart Show.

"Kiss An Angel Good Morning", performed on The Marty Stuart Show.

"I'd Rather Love You", perfomred on The Johnny Cash Show circa 1971.

"I'll Be Leaving Alone", released in 1977.

These tunes are just a sampling of Pride's work, which included 52 Top 10 songs on the country music charts.  Rest In Peace, Charley Pride.  You will be missed.
