We remember the legendary Vic Firth, who was a teacher, and also, the namesake of the largest drumstick maker in the world. He was a graduate of the New England Conservatory, and became a member of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, in 1952. Yours truly, was once, a drummer. I played for five years, and during that time, I used a couple of pairs of Vic Firth's sticks. Rest In Peace, Vic Firth.
