Step one: write beautiful melody. Step two: obliterate it with people yelling, "yippee!", playing a scratchy fiddle and thudding timpani. Step three: spray someone in face with champagne, step four: ring bells obnoxiously, step five: clink glasses so they shatter, step six: realize that maybe, just maybe, someone might have had a few too many drinks.
