Grammy Award winners & performance highlights

Well, a few of the albums and artists who I have highlighted here have won Grammy Awards.  Corea, Clarke & White, win two Grammy's for "Forever."  Best Blues Album goes to "Revelator" by Tedeschi/Trucks Band.  Levon Helm Band's DVD "Ramble At The Ryman" wins an award for Best Americana Album.  On the awards show telecast, there was a great reunion performance by The Beach Boys who will be touring this summer.  Country music guitarist, singer and songwriter, Glenn Campbell was honored as he is doing a farewell tour this year and has written some of country music's most well known numbers.  The medley performed by country artists The Band Perry and Blake Shelton included "Gentle On My Mind" and "Southern Nights".  ...And, the man himself came out on stage to sing his great hit, "Rhinestone Cowboy".

Campbell and George Jones, along with Diana Ross, The Allman Brothers Band, and Antonio Carlos Jobim all have earned Lifetime Achievement Awards from the RIAA.  To end the show, there was a huge guitar jam with Paul McCartney, Joe Walsh, Bruce Springsteen and others, playing Beatles songs.  It was a good awards show.  As tribute to the late, great, Whitney Houston, Jennifer Hudson sang "I Will Always Love You".  We'll see what happens and who wins Grammy's again next year.  The full list will be up tomorrow.  More info to come then.
