The Allman Brothers Band "Midnight Rider" (revisited)

50 years ago, tomorrow (September 10th), in 1973, this performance took place.  The Allman Brothers Band performing live at The Grand Opera House in Macon, Georgia.  Here is a video of their version of "Midnight Rider" one of their most popular tunes, from that night.  This is the era of the band immediately after the tragic deaths of both lead and slide guitarist Duane Allman and bassist Berry Oakley in separate motorcycle accidents.  This lineup of the band includes:

Gregg Allman: Hammond B3 organ, lead vocals
Dickey Betts: lead, rhythm, and slide guitar, vocals
Chuck Leavell: piano, vocals
Lamar Williams: bass
Butch Trucks: drums & percussion
Jai Johnny "Jaimoe" Johansson: drums & percussion

I had several chances to see a modern incarnation of the Allman Brothers, four times, in a span of a decade, at a few different venues.  Their music will live forever in my heart.
