He came to play. Mt. Fuji Jazz Festival, 1986. Billy Higgins on drums. After hearing him on so many Blue Note recordings, so nice to actually see him. The connection between Freddie and the rhythm section, Cedar Walton, Buster Williams and Billy Higgins elevates Freddie as he builds his solo, it's deep. Freddie is a very dramatic musical storyteller.
