A bonus Independence Day post. Louis Armstrong's official birthday, is in August. But, we will celebrate, a month early. From the blog In A Blue Mood, a post about "Satchmo". Here are a number of his recordings, including:

Louis was in demand for recording sessions behind a variety of blues
singers including Bessie Smith, Ma Rainey, Sippie Wallace, and Bertha
"Chippie' Hill, heard on the original "Trouble in Mind."
In the 1930s, Armstrong played "Tiger Rag" during his tours, including on a European tour, at a tour stop in Sweden.
