Grover Washington Jr. "Mr. Magic"

Grover Washington Jr. performs his tune "Mr. Magic" in concert in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on June 27th, 1981 (so, this exact date, 36 years ago), with his band including:

Grover Washington Jr.: tenor saxophone
Eric Gale: guitar
Richard Tee: Rhodes piano
Paul Griffin: synthesizer
Anthony Jackson: bass
Steve Gadd: drums
Ralph MacDonald: percussion

Steve and Ralph get a percussion solo in the middle of the tune.  This is a good one!

Rest In Peace, Grover Washington Jr.  He passed away in December of 1999.  Washington Jr. is one of the artists who was at the forefront of the modern "smooth jazz" movement, along with other artists such as George Benson, John Klemmer, David Sanborn, Bob James, Chuck Mangione, Dave Grusin, Herb Alpert, and Spyro Gyra.
