Jack Bruce "Theme For An Imaginary Western"

The original Jack Bruce version of "Theme For An Imaginary Western" from Bruce's 1969 record "Songs For a Tailor".  This is the second track on the record.  The personnel on the record includes:

Harry Beckett -- trumpet
Jack Bruce -- organ, bass guitar, acoustic guitar, piano, cello, vocals
Dick Heckstall-Smith -- soprano saxophone, tenor saxophone
Jon Hiseman -- drums
Henry Lowther -- trumpet
John Mumford -- trombone
Felix Pappalardi -- percussion, vocals, acoustic guitar
Chris Spedding -- electric guitar
Art Themen -- soprano saxophone, tenor saxophone

Jack Bruce arranged the songs, while Andy Johns was the engineer, and the producer was Felix Pappalardi.

Dr. Isaiah Ross (the one man band)


Check out this video from 1965 of Dr. Ross, the one man band. Here, he plays his tune "I Feel So Good (I Wanna Boogie)".  Ross was born in Tunica, Mississippi, and recorded records for the legendary Chess Records (in Chicago), and Sun Records (in Memphis).

From an Italian TV appearance in 1966, here are The Byrds, playing their song "Mr. Spaceman".  The band lineup is of course Roger McGuinn on guitar, banjo, and vocals, David Crosby on guitar and vocals, Chris Hillman on bass and vocals, and Michael Clarke on drums and vocals.

Michael Brecker "Song For Bilbao"

Check out "Song For Bilbao" by the late, great, tenor saxophonist, Michael Brecker.  It is from his 1996 record, "Tales From The Hudson".  Pat Metheny is the composer.  Metheny and Brecker are two of the musicians on it.  The whole band is:
