Rahsaan Roland Kirk "Blue Rol"

Its been a while since yours truly posted anything from jazz saxophone and wind instrument innovator, Rahsaan Roland Kirk, but, just found another piece he did live in concert.  This tune is called "Blue Rol".  It features Kirk on saxophones, clarinet, wind instruments of various types, saxophones, (tenor, soprano), clarinet, stritch, manzello (modified alto & soprano saxes), and more.  This particular tune is called "Blue Rol" and also features Ron Burton on piano, Nels Henning Orsted-Pedersen on bass, and Alex Riel on drums.

In Memoriam: Richie Cole

We remember the late, great jazz alto saxophonist, Richie Cole, who passed away recently, back on May 2nd.

Eric Clapton & Steve Winwood “Can’t Find My Way Home”

Yesterday marked Steve Winwood’s 72nd birthday.  Happy Birthday, Steve!  Have posted a few collaborations he has done with Eric Clapton during their short lived group Blind Faith, with Rick Grech and Ginger Baker.  Here is their collaboration on “Can’t Find My Way Home” from the second Crossroads Guitar Festival, back in 2007.

The music world, is mourning the passing of an architect of rock & roll, Little Richard, who's real name was Richard Wayne Penniman.
