Cool Delbert McClinton song called "Givin' It Up For Your Love" recorded in Muscle Shoals, Alabama in 1980 at Muscle Shoals Sound Studio.  This tune has that unique groove drenched all over it!  McClinton is great, but this tune is even better because of the vibe of what Muscle Shoals Sound brought to music.  Check it out.

Murder On Music Row

This is a follow-up to a story posted last week about how country music has been completely destroyed by commercialism.  The tune is likely to be controversial among country music fans.  But, here it is.  This song is called "Murder On Music Row".  There are two versions.  One is done by George Strait and Alan Jackson, and the other, is by the writers of the tune, Larry Cordle and Larry Shell.  The above video, is the George Strait and Alan Jackson version.  Below that, is the video of Larry Cordle, playing it with his band, Lonesome Standard Time.

                                                                                      

Hank Williams "Cold, Cold Heart"

Hank Williams died on New Year's Day, 1953.  He is still missed to this day, but his music is still significant.  A legend and a pillar of country music for sure.  Here's his mournful ballad, "Cold, Cold Heart".

Carlos Santana & John McLaughlin "Afro Blue"

From the 2004 Montreux Jazz Festival, an all-star cast of musicians covers John Coltrane's "Afro Blue" including his son Raavi Coltrane and Wayne Shorter on saxophones, Chick Corea on keyboards, and Carlos Santana and John McLaughlin on guitars.  This is superb.
