Muddy Waters - REMASTERED _ Hoochie Coochie Man - 15/07/1979 • World of Jazz

Muddy Waters was born in 1913 as McKinly Morganfield in a small town in Mississippi. As a young child, he loved to play in a river near his home, that’s why his grandmother nicknamed him “Muddy Waters”. He started to play the blues harp when he was 7 years old and only at age 17, he started to play the guitar, which finally brought him fame throughout the world. With his electric guitar he founded the base for the so called “Chicago Sound”. The song “Hoochie Coochie man”, written by Willie Dixon, was first recorded by him in 1954. “Hoochie coochie” used to be 19th century Afro-American slang for sex and alcohol.
