Katsumi Horii Project "Hot Is Cool"

The first of a few recordings yours truly has found for Full Album Friday, by Japanese producer, Katsumi Horii, who organized bands with stellar, top level musicians, to play out his musical vision of pop oriented instrumental jazz funk/fusion and make records.  The first of a few records that will be featured on Full Album Friday is the 1987 release "Hot Is Cool".  The track listing is:

The Charlie Daniels Band “El Toreador”

The story of a Spanish bull fighter, in song, by the Charlie Daniels Band.  From their 1982 record “Full Moon”, here is “El Toreador”.  Also included is a live version of the song, once again sourced from the band’s performance in 1980 at Oakland Auditorium in Oakland, California.  

Frank Zappa “Dupree’s Paradise”

From a 1973 performance in Stockholm, Sweden, here is Frank Zappa and his band, the Mothers of Invention, featuring among others, Jean Luc Ponty on violin, playing the tune “Dupree’s Paradise”.  The band is:

Check out Johnny and Shuggie Otis, Johnny on piano and lead vocals, Shuggie on rhythm guitar, and the searing, stinging Fender Telecaster tones of Roy Buchanan, on the blues, “Bye Bye Baby”.

The Charlie Daniels Band "Carolina (I Remember You)"

Re-posting both studio and live versions of The Charlie Daniels Band's song "Carolina (I Remember You)".  The studio track is from the 1982 "Full Moon" album, and the live version comes from a concert at Oakland Auditorium in Oakland, California, on August 21st, 1980, via Concert Vault.
