Bill Evans Trio "My Foolish Heart"

One of the many great live performances of the standard "My Foolish Heart", by the Bill Evans Trio.  This version, dates back to 1964 and features Evans on piano, Chuck Israels on bass, and Larry Bunker on drums.  Incidentally, this jazz standard was composed by Victor Young and Ned Washington, published in 1949.  This is not the only great version of the song to be found on YouTube.  Type in Bill Evans, "My Foolish Heart", and other versions, will appear.  Check them out. 

In Memoriam: Col. Bruce Hampton

Rest In Peace, Col. Bruce Hampton. One of the true geniuses of music, who really started the careers of a couple of my favorite musicians, including Jimmy Herring, Oteil Burbridge, and Derek Trucks. Since the early 1970's, Col. Bruce has played with just about everyone, and the great southern soothsayer has influenced many more. From his early days with the Hampton Grease Band to the transformational Col. Bruce Hampton and the Aquarium Rescue Unit of the 1990's to whatever band he dreams up next, seeing Col. Bruce on stage is to be simultaneously whisked away into both the past and the future.

Paying tribute to the late, great, Butch Trucks, one of the Allman Brothers Band's founding members, and a seminal figure in creating the Wanee Music Festival in Live Oak, Florida, that took place about three weeks ago.
