More George Jones tributes

Here are more tributes to George Jones, including a story about his funeral, that yours truly did indeed watch the TV broadcast of.  It was a moving tribute, to a great artist.  George Jones was a country music icon.  But, like many in the genre, he had widespread appeal around the world in numerous musical circles.  Once again, Rest In Peace, "Possum".

The Ringers "Kaleidoscope Carousel"

Here is Jimmy Herring with his other band called The Ringers, (highlighted here a number of weeks ago before yours truly saw him play with Widespread Panic), playing "Kaleidoscope Carousel" from his latest solo record called "Subject To Change Without Notice" that was featured in a Spotify Sunday post weeks ago, too.  Three guitar slingers are in, The Ringers.  Jimmy Herring, Wayne Krantz, and Michael Landau.  The rhythm section is Etienne Mbappe on bass, and Keith Carlock (from Steely Dan), on drums.  This is a good one.

Assembly OK's naming Route 375 for Helm

Willie Nelson & Ray Charles "Seven Spanish Angels"

Happy 80th birthday to Willie Nelson.  Yours truly saw Willie and his band play at the Northrop Auditorium in 2002.  That was my introduction to country music.  Here is a performance Nelson did with the late, great, Ray Charles, on a song called "Seven Spanish Angels".  Check it out.  Happy Birthday, Willie Nelson.
