In memoriam: George Jones

Country music legend George Jones has passed away.  Yours truly at least heard some of his songs.  Not all of them.  Will have to go through his catalog and see what I might have missed.  Two favorites are, his cover of Jape "The Big Bopper" Richardson's "White Lightning", and "He Stopped Loving Her Today", which may be one of if not the saddest country ballad ever written, that Jones made a hit in 1980.  George Jones was well respected in all of music.  He was another country musician, like a Willie Nelson, or a Johnny Cash, who had appeal to rock and pop fans, and bands, too.

This kid is incredible!  Quinn Sullivan, a blues guitar prodigy, who the great Buddy Guy has taken under his wing in a way.  What an honor.

Jeff Lorber Fusion "Curtains"

Another of my favorite songs as of late.  This is "Curtains" by Jeff Lorber Fusion from their 1977 album, "Soft Space".  Featured this in a "Spotify Sunday" list not too long ago.  Great tune.

Marcus Miller & Al Jarreau "You Don't See Me"

Groovy tune with a significant message in a way.  This is Al Jarreau and Marcus Miller's "You Don't See Me".  Jarreau's unique vocal delivery, and Miller's solid, funky slap bass, really meld together here.
